I'm Willie, a Scottish author now living in Newfoundland.
I've had seven novels and over 150 short stories published, with two more novels coming in 2008. They're mostly set in Scotland, but now that I've moved to Newfoundland there'll be a few with Canadian settings :) For details see my website at http://www.williammeikle.c Eldren: The Book of the Dark is a modern day vamp novel, a standalone based around a vampire bible. Watchers is a dark fantasy trilogy, set in 1745 Scotland with a vamp Bonnie Prince Charlie, vampire highlander armies, and incidental werewolves and zombies... the first book is "The Coming of the King". There's an excerpt at http://www.williammeikle.c For something different, The Midnight Eye Files: The Amulet is about a PI in Glasgow who gets involved with the minions of Cthulhu... it's a bit of a Chandleresque/Lovecraft pastiche and is more tongue-in-cheek than the other books. Sirens is Book 2, coming this spring. There's an excerpt available at http://www.williammeikle.c Generations is a Children's book, and involves a mad scientist, a plague of giant bugs and a dragon :) If you like Lovecraftian stuff, you should also check out an anthology I was in recently... High Seas Cthulhu, from Elder Signs Press. The way forward for short stories?

Is this the future for short stories? I sold a story "From Between" to Wrongworld, who are creating a "multi-media" experience around the story... opening narrative, adverts, visuals, the whole shebang... it's pretty impressive. They put it on DVD alongside adverts for Films and TV shows they produce, and rent/sell them. Here's the ad for my story...New novel available on advance order
